Decide which player will begin first

How do you play the game?

  • Start the game by rolling all the 6 dice.
  • Once you see the numbers that have come up in the roll, keep the dice(s) that have the highest points.
  • Keep these aside.
  • You can then choose to re-roll the remaining dices to get a higher total.
  • For instance, if you roll a 1,6,5,5,3,3 you may choose to keep the 1 aside.
  • You can then re-roll the rest of the dices.
  • Now in the re-roll, for instance, let’s say you get 3 3s, a 4 and a 1.
  • You can then keep the 3 3s aside, which will get added to your total score.
  • Now, you can choose to re-roll again, but you have to be careful whether or not rolling the remaining dice can get you good scores, or make you lose what you scored till now.
  • After each player’s turn, make sure to jot down the points on the paper.
  • At any point in the game when you are rolling the dice, if you are not able to get numbers that you can take to keep aside, then you are Farkle-d.
  • When this happens, you lose all the points.
